Functions / Uses

1. Charging Dell Laptops

   • The primary use is to charge a Dell notebook that uses a barrel DC input (7.4 × 5.0 mm, 0.6 mm). 

2. USB-C Power Delivery (PD)

   • It allows you to use a USB-C PD (Power Delivery) power adapter to charge your Dell laptop. 

   • That means you don’t have to use a proprietary Dell power brick; you can use a compatible USB-C PD charger (65 W recommended) and this cable

3. Replacement / Travel Cable

   • It can serve as a spare or backup cable for travel (1.5 m length is fairly portable but long enough for flexibility).

   • Useful for reducing the number of different chargers/cables you carry (since USB-C PD is becoming common).

4. Power Negotiation (Smart Charging)

   • Because it uses PD, the cable / power delivery system will negotiate the correct voltage/current with the power adapter and the laptop. This helps ensure safe and efficient charging.
